Stairs of Multiplication

Stairs of multiplication table at one school.  I have never seen it except this school.

Second grade pupils (7 years old ) learn the multiplication table.
We Japanese can say the multiplication table up to 9.
How about your country??

A multiplication table is a Ku-ku ( It means nine times nine) in Japanese.

School visit by International guest

Ministry of education have decided to teach English at elementary school.

The program of the international exchange in an elementary school has increased.

Here is one of the program.
Teacher from NZ visited the school and talked with pupils in English.

In the harsh conditions of 100 years ago, why did a group of young girls have to cross snowy a mountain pass at -10c  While looking back to past, this video also looks forward to the social issues of the present and future.

 

 

Nagawa junior high school is a very small school.

There were only 5 third-grade-students at the school.
But they have studied  hard to get the first prize.

One of the student told me that she would like to be a editor in the future,

because she has noticed that she likes writing.

 

The guest teacher's program was introduced on television.

They said the guest teacher's program is increaseing .
Students have to study what is important now in society.

They have reported the guest teacher's program at Nakase junior high school　at Tokyo.

The students have learned the special program from Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The guest teacher from Tokyo Stock Exchange taught about economic mechanisms using board game.
The students enjoyed and learned about it.

Then, they reported the coordinator forum of the education which Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education hosts.
(I am a one of the key member of this forum.)

The forum was like a fair .
About fifty industry  have appealed a special program for elementary , junior , or junior high school.

And we can watch the comment of the section manager of Tokyo Metropolitan life learning section.
The manager named Ms. Tani said the students need various experiences in the  real world.

Almost of all Japanese pupils have a school lunch at their school.
It is not break time but learning time about  food , manner etc.
Teachers have to teach them to the pupils.

Pupils eat at their home room with teachers.
They serve the lunch by themselves.

We have invited the teachers from the 3.11 earthquake area's school

12th-14th Jan, 2012  The project for teachers

One year after terrible Tsunami 3.11 at Iwate prefecture,
We invited the teachers from Iwate prefecture to Tokyo for 3 days.
I  brought them to the school in Tokyo the second day.

 

The pupils and teachers at Yanaka elementary school welcomed the teachers from Iwate prefecture.

They prepared welcome board for the guests .

They had a lunch with 4th grade pupils .

The pupils sang for the guest , before lunch.

Had a very good time .

The teachers said to me,

We have a very good time.

We want to meet our pupils as soon as possible,

and study with them, even if our life are changing difficulty.
